One?Pot Conversion of Glucose into 5?Hydroxymethylfurfural using MOFs and Brønsted?Acid Tandem Catalysts

The direct conversion reaction of glucose to 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) is studied using metal organic framework (MOF) as Lewis-acid catalysts and a polyoxometalate (POM), silicotungstic acid, Brønsted-type acid with mixture 1% solution in ?-valerolactone (GVL)-10% H2O at 140 °C. study carried out two routes: one MOF POM tandem added independently the other through synthesis composite material denoted POM@MOF. activity tests show that profiles yield HMF achieved both routes are similar, reactions MIL-53(Al) MIL-101(Cr) producing highest (40% after 8 h reaction). Stability performed on POM@MOF based MIL-101(Cr). HSiW@MIL-101(Cr) can be reused, showing progressive loss due leaching POM.
